Red Vented Bulbul (Pycnonotus cafer) are one of the most common birds in India. A total of eight subspecies are recognized all around the world.

DESCRIPTION
Red Vented Bulbul is about 20 cm in length and
its body is dark brown and black for its head. It has scaly pattern over its
body. It has a short crest giving its head a squarish appearance. The Rump is
white whereas the vent is red which gives the bird its name. Both the genders
look the same but the younger ones look a bit duller than adults.

HABITAT
These birds are found in dry scrub, open forest, plains and cultivated lands but they are absent in dense Jungles.
